Mrs. Erica McDonald, Principal
Erica McDonald serves as principal of Overland Trail Elementary. She brings 13 years of experience in education, all within the Blue Valley School District, including roles as an elementary educator, assistant principal, and principal.
McDonald earned a Bachelor of Education degree from Kansas State University. She holds a Master of Arts in Curriculum and Instruction and a Master of Science in School Leadership from Baker University. She values being part of the Blue Valley community and proudly embraces her role within the Overland Trail Cougar family.
She lives in Lenexa with her husband, Christian, their two daughters, Blaise and Steele, and their son, Brix. Outside of school, her family enjoys spending time together through various activities, including traveling.
McDonald is dedicated to supporting staff and students by fostering an inclusive environment that promotes life readiness and personal excellence for all learners. She looks forward to continuing to provide rich, relevant, and meaningful learning experiences at Overland Trail Elementary.

David Boulden, Administrative Dean
Dave Boulden is excited to join the Overland Trail Elementary team as an administrative dean. Throughout his career, he has been dedicated to teaching, leading and supporting elementary students. He believes there is no better place for students to learn, grow and build lasting relationships than an elementary school.
Boulden looks forward to getting to know Overland Trail students, partnering with families and working alongside the school's exceptional staff to make the year one filled with learning, laughter and success.
